I am a Microsoft Certified IT professional based in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, currently working at Focus Group to keep our systems stable and secure. My daily job involves supporting users and tackling the weirder infrastructure challenges that come up. Even though I spend most of my working hours in the Microsoft ecosystem, I have a massive soft spot for open-source technology and automation. I am honestly happiest when I am deep in a Linux box, building things from scratch or finding ways to make existing systems run smoother. That carries over to my spare time where I run a home lab to mess around with enterprise-grade networking and automation projects. For me, the best part of the job is just taking a messy technical problem and building a clean, practical solution for it, whether that is a quick daily fix or designing a whole new deployment.
